4th of July

Just in time for the big Independence Day weekend festivities, a website ranked every state in America to see which ones were the most PATRIOTIC. How did Montana do with it's love for the red, white, and blue?

Three law enforcement agencies will be teaming up this Fourth of July weekend to keep drunk and impaired drivers off the road.

Earlier this week we found out that the city of Hamilton was going to cancel their fireworks show on the fourth of July due to a shortage of funds. Just yesterday, Farmers State Bank has stepped up and said they would supply the $3,200 so the town fireworks show could continue this year...

I don't like hearing this and maybe we can help. The city of Hamilton has been forced to cancel the 4th of July festivities due to lack of donations.

On Wednesday's show with Aaron Traylor, listeners used only their voices to create a montage of wonderful firework spectacles. While some made the sound of high-flying pyrotechnics, others made the "oohs and aahs" to give the patriotic illusion of a grand finale on the fourth! Even though the 4th of July is a holiday to celebrate, the Missoula Police Department and the Montana Highway Patrol wants to remind all recreationists to be safe and responsible when it comes to drinking and driving over the holiday weekend.

Make no mistake, the ban on fireworks in the city of Missoula will be strictly enforced, perhaps for the first time in many years, on this coming Fourth of July holiday.

While the rest of us were enjoying a lengthy 4th of July fireworks show last night, San Diego residents got completely robbed when their display went off all at once in a spectacular explosion that lasted a mere 15 seconds.

The 4th of July is always a big day at the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula, and Wednesday is no exception. Museum Director Bob Brown says the festivities start at 8 am sharp, with a breakfast provided by volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Historical Museum.

For the seventh year, the Florence Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual Fireworks and Community Pot Luck at Florence HideOut Mountain park - Florence Carlton Loop on July 4th from 6pm to 11pm. Meat and Buns provided, just bring your own seating, drinks, utensils and dish to share...
