Polson Stevi and Hamilton Make Top 10 Worst Places to Live in MT

Ah BIG SKY COUNTRY! It is a place we call home, and many other people are looking to call home. Since the start of the pandemic, we have seen real estate get eaten up by "COVID refugees." People looking for a less densely populated area to raise their families. Outside of Wyoming, Montana has got to be one the least densely populated states in the country.

In fact...Montana has only 7 people per square mile. Compare that to California which is 253 people per square mile. YUCK! No wonder people are looking to spread out a little. Let's just hope they do their research before packing the family up in the U-Haul and making their way to the Treasure State.

According to their data, the town of Polson claims the top spot as "The Worst Place to Live in Montana."

Not only does Polson have Montana's 2nd lowest home value rank, but it also had the 4th and 5th highest rankings in unemployment and crime respectively.

The town of Stevensville is not far behind, coming in at number 3 in the worst palces to live in Montana.

Income levels are far lower than the state average, and the schools are some of the least funded in the state. Plus, you have a 1 in 90.9 chance of being robbed every year.

And, just 17 miles south of Stevensville, you have the jewel of the Bitterroot. Hamilton made the top 10 list of worst places to live in Montana. Coming in at number 6.
