It's amazing how quickly time flies. It's been a year already since the first ever Loyola sock hop and yesterday I had the privilege to, once again, judge the competition. It all stared last year when the staff and faculty at Loyola High School decided that kids need to learn some real dancing skills. Not the Jersey Shore, grind on the dance floor, kind of dancing, but the kind of dancing you see on TV's Dancing with the Stars. Students take a half hour each week and learn to dance. This year, there were over 40 teams of dancers and they started by warming up to various dances and then the entire group did a little line dancing. Thanks Loyola, see you next year!

Here are a couple of videos I took of the sock hop competition. Can you spot yourself?
