Talk about being in the right place at the right time, three times over!

During my recent vacation to Nashville I was witness to triple the once-in-a-lifetime opportunities! The first being being hand selected to perform on stage at the Grand Ol' Opry, the next being asked to join Bobby Brown on stage at the New Edition concert to perform the Running Man in a dance contest at the Nashville Music Hall of Fame arena and then to witness this buzzworthy event unfold before my eyes.

Despite past grievances, Bobby Brown reunited with his five New Edition bandmates to hit the road this summer for their All Six reunion tour, including one stop in Nashville. But it seems like the full group tour will be cut short, after Bobby suffered a health scare during a concert earlier this month that caused him to return home.

Was it my rendition of the Running Man that caused him to break away from the tour? Ha! Hardly.

My wife pointed out to me during their final song (If It Isn't Love, my all time jam) that Bobby ducked out of the dance routine to head back stage. At first I thought the reason why was because he didn't perform in that song originally so he didn't want to take any of the credit away from the members that sang it (Bobby was kicked out of the group before that song came out). But then we read this today...

TMZ reported that the 45-year-old singer had “an intrusive medical procedure,” requiring him to leave the tour to be under the care of his doctor. During the group’s show in Southaven, Miss. on July 2, he was seen struggling to catch his breath and keep up with his fellow band members during their onstage dance routine. Bobby later left the stage entirely.

He released a statement apologizing for withdrawing from the tour, saying, “I apologize to the fans of New Edition. I really wanted to be with my brothers, but presently I am unable to give the fans what they typically expect from New Edition.”

The other five members of New Edition will continue with the tour for the remaining 16 shows.

We did notice that Bobby was quite winded and seemed a bit out of shape compared to the rest of the group, which is why this all makes sense after hearing the sad news.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Bobby!
