What Is Going On in This Terrifying Trailer for Russian Horror Movie ‘The Bride’?
Unless you’re fluent in Russian (and we’re not), you’ll have a hard time figuring out what the story is in this new trailer for an upcoming horror film called The Bride. The subtitles aren’t in English, so we’re definitely missing out on what appears to be some sort of narrative setup, but one thing is for sure: Whatever the hell is going on in this trailer, it’s terrifying.
New Amazon Prime Instant Video Releases: November 2016
Amazon is giving you plenty of things to be thankful for in November, adding dozens of new film and television titles to their streaming library — would it be too much to ask for an add-on program that takes the agony out of deciding what to watch, though? For instance, it’s a heavy first world burden to choose between the first season of AMC’s The Night Manager and binge-watching all of the Rocky movies (yes, even Creed). Before you know it, you’ve already wasted half of your Saturday browsing before you end up rewatching The Addams Family for the billionth time.
Sony’s ‘Mulan’ Lands ‘Game of Thrones’ Director Alex Graves
Well that didn’t take very long. Last week, a report revealed that not only is Disney seeking Chinese actors for their live-action remake of Mulan, but they’re also looking for an Asian filmmaker. That same report noted that Sony was also looking for an Asian filmmaker for their competing live-action Mulan project. While Disney’s search is ongoing, Sony has already landed on a director and — big fat not-surprise — it’s a white man.
Lucasfilm Files Lawsuit Against Unauthorized Lightsaber Academy
The force is very strong with Disney and Lucasfilm’s legal department — or at least one would assume, which is why it’s probably not a good idea to infringe on their trademarked properties, especially Star Wars. But that’s exactly what one enterprising business owner did when he started the Lightsaber Academy, which is now the target of a lawsuit filed by Lucasfilm late last week.
‘Doctor Strange’ Post-Credits Scenes Revealed!
It should go without saying that this post contains major spoilers for Doctor Strange — specifically the mid- and post-credits scenes from the Sorcerer Supreme’s big debut. In addition to introducing new mystical elements (and threats), Doctor Strange establishes some very interesting connections to the MCU and teases events to come. If you’re curious about what the future might hold and can’t wait until November 4, we have the full details on the mid and post-credits scenes from Marvel’s latest.
30 Movie Posters Where Ben Affleck Stares Into the Distance and Contemplates Stuff
Ben Affleck is a man of many talents: A-list movie star, director, producer, Matt Damon’s BFF, Batman, vape enthusiast, and this week he’s an autistic accountant moonlighting as an action-hero in The Accountant. But there’s just one skill he can’t seem to master, and it’s knowing what to do with his face in movie posters. Like Adam Sandler, who makes the same face in every single poster, Affleck also has a very specific default facial expression: Blankly staring off into the distance.
‘Bad Moms’ to Get ‘Bad Dads’ Spinoff, aka Every Other Comedy Ever Made
Looks like the studio behind Bad Moms is creeping in on Wes Anderson’s territory: STX Entertainment is reportedly developing a spinoff to this summer’s hit comedy, this time focusing on not-so-great dads. Let’s be honest, though — Bad Dads could describe Wes Anderson’s whole filmography (there’s even an Anderson art tribute show and book with that title), but it could also easily describe most studio comedies.
‘Sleepless’ Trailer: Jamie Foxx Will Kill Everyone to Get His Son Back
Do you like the Taken films? Do you love John Wick? (That’s a rhetorical question; of course you do.) What if you combined the two into one film, threw in some dirty cops and Jamie Foxx with a vendetta? You’d get Sleepless, the new remake of the acclaimed French action film Sleepless Night. The first trailer for the upcoming thriller ticks off all the right boxes, and with the help of some great music and excellent editing, we were sold on this one before the 60-second mark.
Disney’s Live-Action ‘Mulan’ Gets a Release Date
Few things in life are certain: Death, taxes, and Disney’s live-action remakes of animated classics. One of the studio’s many, many, many upcoming live-action projects has graduated from concept to reality (or something close to it) as Disney has officially set a release date for Mulan, giving you ample time to clear your calendar for the first weekend of November…in 2018.
‘Harry Potter’ Movies (Yes, All of Them) Heading to IMAX for One Week Only
We’ll be returning to J.K. Rowling’s magical world of wizards this November with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and to help get you in the proper spirit, Warner Bros. is re-releasing all eight of the Harry Potter films — in IMAX, no less. There is a catch, of course: The films will only screen for one week, so if you want to see Mr. Potter & Co. on the very-very-big screen, you might want to clear your calendar.
Warwick Davis Also Has a Role in ‘Star Wars: Episode 8’
Warwick Davis has been with the Star Wars franchise since Return of the Jedi, when he made his big screen debut as Wicket the Ewok. Since then, he’s had non-Ewok roles in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, The Force Awakens and the upcoming anthology film Rogue One — in which he plays the new Space Monkey character that’s already becoming a bit of a fan favorite. It looks like Davis isn’t leaving the galaxy far, far away anytime soon, as the actor himself has confirmed that he’ll also appear in Episode VIII.
‘War for the Planet of the Apes’ Teases Another ‘Epic Battle’ in First Official Synopsis
It’s been a minute (or several) since we’ve heard anything new from War For the Planet of the Apes, but Matt Reeves’ follow-up to 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes finally has an official synopsis — and just in time for its appearance at New York Comic Con next week. Oh, and by the way, War for the Planet of the Apes is heading to NYCC next week, which means we should be hearing a whole lot more about the exciting new sequel very soon.
