The Big Sky Documentary Film Festival is going on right now all the way through February 28th (for details about what's playing, check here). In a normal year, that would mean venues like The Roxy Theater, The Wilma, and the Zootown Arts Community Center would be busy showing wall-to-wall screenings of all kinds of documentary films from all over the world, and many that were filmed right here in Montana. Of course, this isn't a normal year, so the festival is virtual for the first time ever (to find out how to attend, check out their website).

To try to recreate the experience of the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, the ZACC is doing something really cool - they've dug deep into their archives and have created a gallery of movie posters, festival posters, and other artwork celebrating the history of the festival, many of it done by Missoula artists over the years.

It's their way of creating the energy of the festival even when there's no physical screenings, and a pretty awesome way to highlight great artwork from over the festival's 18 years in existence.

If you want to check it out, the gallery is free to the public at the ZACC and is open from 10 AM to 6 PM on Mondays through Fridays, and 12 PM to 4 PM on Sundays.

Have you watched any of the films from this year's Big Sky Documentary Film Festival? Does it feel different from previous years due to having to watch the movies at home?
