Would the Montana National Guard Settle for a Lime Green Tank?

We're not sure, but we doubt there are many commanding officers who would order their guys to "think chartreuse."

AP tells us that a National Guard division in West Virginia figured if the paint can said "tank green," that's what it was going to be. It turns out that wasn't the case.

The Guard has been working on cleaning, painting and restoring a tank for about 20 years. They took a color sample to a local store and were assured by the dealer that they were getting two gallons of "tank green" paint. At least that's what the label said. What the crew got was a lemon-lime, yellow finish. Now, the painters just figured that it would probably change to an olive drab color once it dried.Uh...no.

But the troops won't give up. They plan to repaint it, once they find the right color for sure!
