Apple made more news today as they announced the all new iPad 2. The announcement opened with Steve Jobs, looking "good", relaying sales figures that Apple has seen over the past year. Then Jobs rolled into the big unveiling of iPad Part Deux.

The iPad 2 ships March 11th! Great news for the larger cities which are sure to receive them on the launch date, but what about little 'ol Missoula? Will we have to wait longer?

Pricing will be the same as the 1st generation iPad, so the base model 16GB iPad 2 will run you $499. The 32GB is $599, 64GB $699 and it's an additional $130 to add 3G. But where can we get our hands on it?

I spoke with sales associates at both Vann's in Missoula and Best Buy on Reserve Street and at the time of writing this article neither have the item "in their system". This doesn't mean they won't get the iPad 2 on time, it simply means that it's too soon to tell.

Some sales outlets were guaranteed, however. The iPad 2 will be available at Apple Stores, retailers, AT&T, Verizon and online store starting March 11th.  Zootown is still waiting on AT&T to make it's move to town and I'm doubting we will see an Apple Store in the area anytime soon, so it looks like Apple's official website and our local Verizon stores will begin carrying them on time. Still unclear on if Verizon will stock a Wi-Fi only version or attempt to rope us into a data plan with their 3G iPad2.
