It's always fun to see where Missoula ranks on surveys like this.

WalletHub released their findings on 2019's Safest Cities in America.

When you read "safest" you probably automatically think crime. But the article explains the rankings include many other ways people can feel unsafe ranging from unemployment to road quality.

In order to determine the safest cities in which to live, WalletHub compared 182 cities — including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state — across three key dimensions: 1) Home & Community Safety, 2) Natural-Disaster Risk, and 3) Financial Safety.

What's your thoughts on where Missoula placed on the list? If you guessed #68, that would be an amazing guess, and you would be correct.

Check out the article to see how the results were calculated. You'll also find some interesting stats including the best and worst states in categories like assaults per capita, unemployment rates, % of uninsured population and more.
