I still remember my strangest catch, trolling with my dad when I was a kid and landing someone else's rod and reel.

Of course that is a fond memory and far less frightening than hooking into a live hand grenade. AP tells us that's what happened to a guy fishing from a bridge over the Little Calumet River in northwestern Indiana on Monday.

Police were called and the incident prompted closure of the road until the device could be removed by a bomb squad. There was no speculation given as to how a live grenade might have ended up in the river. Fortunately the bomb squad removed it without incident, so apparently the angler's heart must be beating again by now. I'm not sure mine would be.
