We get to experience all that Missoula has to offer on a daily basis. This year has been interesting like no other - and it's been easy to forget how blessed we are to live where we do. It's always fun to see Missoula get some recognition on any type of list that ranks cities across the country. But there's also that part of us that thinks "no, don't tell the rest of the world how awesome we are.....let us keep it our little secret."

Liveability.com looked at more than 1,000 cities and only the cream of the crop made their list of the 2020 Top 100 Best Places to Live. And wouldn't you know it, we're in that crop! Not only that, but we placed pretty high on the list - Missoula came in at #23. Not bad when you remember they reviewed over 1,000 cities before settling on which 100 would make the list.

Economy, job opportunities, unemployment rates.......that and much more factored into the rankings. You can poke around the article to get a better sense of what went into consideration.

Here's what they had to say about Missoula as a whole:

Montana may seem like a far-off, even magical place, full of untouched wilderness and friendly people. But we can assure you it’s very real and it’s closer than you might think. Located in western Montana, Missoula is home to the state’s flagship university, the University of Montana, as well as several world-class hospitals and medical facilities. Above all else, people love living in Missoula because it offers unparalleled access to nature — residents love to hike, bike, fish, golf, ski, snowshoe and every other outdoor activity you can dream of. Missoula has retained a small-town atmosphere with a population of roughly 70,000. The economy is stable and growing, the quality of life is off the charts and it’s a great place to raise a family — need we say more?
