As if $4-a-gallon gasoline isn't bad enough, prices of a number of other items are going up lately, according to USA Today.

The list includes: coffee prices, up 27 percent between December and March; potatoes, up 39 percent; soft drinks, up 14 percent, and tires, up at least 6 percent. We're also paying more for chocolate, airline tickets, fruit and vegetables, furniture, home and auto insurance, and household products like soap and diapers. Rising ingredient costs are blamed for most of the price increases. Well, except for the insurance hikes. They're blamed on an increase in stormy weather.

Have the higher prices kept you from buying anything? Are you cutting back on certain groceries or luxury items? I am NOT going without coffee or chocolate!
