The theme for homecoming at the University of Montana 2015 is 'A Tradition of Champions', and one of the key aspects of the week will be honoring the 1995 National Champion football team.

Associate Director of the University of Montana Alumni Association, Susan Cuff, said the celebration began at Southgate Mall on Sunday, and will continue all week through the Homecoming football game on Saturday against Northern Arizona.

"On Friday, we'll have our distinguished alumni awards ceremony, followed by the Yell Night Pep Rally on the UM Oval," Cuff said. "The football team will be there along with Coach Stitt, Monte and the UM marching band. A group of students will climb Mount Sentinel and light up the 'M'. "

Cuff said the Homecoming Parade on Saturday will follow the traditional route up Higgins at 10 a.m..

"We have about 120 entries this year," she said. "We have horses and about 10  marching bands, fiddle players, jump ropers. Many members of the 1995 National Championship football team will be there, and head coach Don Read will be the honorary parade marshal."

Kickoff for he Homecoming football game against Northern Arizona will be at 2 p.m.on Saturday.
