UM Dining has been ranked number one in the state and 84th in the country for best campus food. UM Dining Director Mark LoParco said out of over 1,700 colleges and universities, the University of Montana was the only Montana school to receive a grade of "A" in the Niche Campus Food category.

"It's basically that our guests rated the value of their meal plans and that they're satisfied with the healthy choices and nutritional content of our food, and certainly the variety," LoParco said. "We have a lot of healthy choices available. We provide nutritional information so that they can see the calories and the breakdown of the meals that we serve. We are quite proud to serve a third of what we serve on campus is Montana food."

LoParco said the survey also ranked each campus on quality of food in addition to cost of meal plans.
