If you're looking for some assistance this tax season, here's some good news. Thanks to a collaboration between the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program of the IRS and the University of Montana, members of the community will be able to receive help with their taxes for free.

From now until March 9th, twenty-three student volunteers will be gathering in Gallagher Business Building 209 on campus from 9 AM to 4 PM, where they will help prepare clients' tax returns for free. You can call or make an appointment, but they are also accepting walk-ins on the day of.

The VITA program helps to prepare 500 to 600 tax returns a year, and it's a great learning experience for the students. If you're in need of an assistance but perhaps unable to afford it otherwise, this is a great solution.
