U.S. House Candidate Denise Juneau Calls for Equal Pay For Women on ‘Equal Pay Day’

According to the website American Women dot org, low wage women in Montana only make about 67 cents for every dollar a man is paid.

Tuesday, April 12 is Equal Pay Day through the U.S. and Montana Congressional candidate, and current Superintendent of Public Instruction, Denise Juneau, called for all women in the state to receive equal pay with men for the same work.

"Pay discrimination hurts women, families and our economy," Juneau said. "Growing up with two working parents, I learned the value of fairness. Outdated policies in Congress are holding Montana families back. It's time Congress got serious about making sure hard working women get equal pay for equal work."

To bolster the argument for equal pay, on-average, women working year-round, full-time in Montana earn 74 cents for every dollar a man earns. Montana’s wage gap among full-time workers is ranked 45th among states, according to the American Community Survey of the U.S. Census Bureau.
