In over a decade, T.I. went from an ATL D-Boy to a bona fide superstar. His first foray into the world of Hollywood via the coming-of-age film ATL was a crucial component in the transition. Well, nearly a decade after it hit theaters and took the already lava-hot rapper to the next level, there will be a sequel to the hip-hop cult classic. Most of the original cast is back for the ride.

Tip posted a photo to his Instagram account Wednesday (March 4) featuring the core members of the original cast including Albert Davis (Brooklyn), Jason Weaver (Teddy), Jackie Long (Esquire) and T.I. himself. "#ATL2 Get Ready," he wrote as the caption, effectively raising the hopes and dreams of fans who were in their teen years when the first installment made a dent at the box office.

He also posted a second image of himself and Lauren London, who played New-New, the love interest of T.I.'s character Rashad.

While details on the sequel are still scarce, just the confirmation that the film will see the light of day is reason to rejoice.
