The Nature Conservancy Preserves Montana Land – Help One of Townsquare Media’s Own With Fundraiser

One of our favorite members of the Townsquare Media digital support team in New York, Steve Frost plans to participate in a 40-mile bike trip in NYC to benefit The Nature Conservancy Organization – a group that has done a lot to preserve land in Western Montana.

The Nature Conservancy is an organization that sets aside land and water for future generations. They have been working in the Big Sky state since 1976, starting in the Black Foot River Valley and expanding to the Yellowstone River near Miles City.

The Nature Conservancy, with the help of other organizations, has protected over 182,000 acres from development on the Rocky Mountain front. They take pride that they work closely with landowners and communities across Montana to bring a scientific focus to protecting the land and resources.

With the help of other organizations they have managed to accomplish great things. While working with the Nature Conservancy Canada near the North Fork of the Flathead for the past 30 years, they have been working to end prospective mining on the western edge of Glacier-Waterton International Peace Park. They have paired with the Montana Legacy Project, where they worked with a wide variety of groups from loggers to snowmobilers to reestablish 310,500 acres of what used to be industrial timberland, into millions of acres of public land.

Their work on Montana’s Northern Prairies has aided in the preservation of grasslands that are home to threatened birds,elk, pronghorn,swift fox, along with other prairie animals. They have made such a positive impact in Montana and all over the world.

Frost needs to personally raise $1,000 in order to secure his spot in the May 5 race. All of the donations will go to The Nature Conservancy and their efforts to keep our world a beautiful place for years to come. Help support a great man and an even greater cause by donating.
