Tom Hanks is making the most of all the Sully buzz: earlier today, it was revealed that Hanks has written a script for a movie called Greyhound, and also hopes to star in the picture if he can get it picked up. Aaron Schneider (director of Get Low and director of photography for Titanic) has signed on to direct.

The latest trailer for Inferno is, unfortunately, not as intriguing as the last, but if you’re a big fan of exposition, then this one is for you. Tom Hanks and Ron Howard reunite for the third and final chapter in the Da Vinci Code trilogy, which sees our puzzle-solving protagonist Robert Langdon battling the apocalypse — at least it seems less painful than that one with the X-Men.

It may be Mother’s Day, but Sony doesn’t want your dad to feel left out. The studio has released a teaser for the first Inferno trailer, along with a couple of posters offering a sneak peek at the finale to The Da Vinci Code trilogy. And it looks like the series is prepared to go out with a bang, as Tom Hanks is literally holding the fate of the world in his hands.

When Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg last made a war film, they produced Saving Private Ryan, which was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, and features what’s widely considered one of the greatest battle scenes ever captured on film. They’ve worked together since, including on Catch Me If You Can, one of the best movies of either man’s career, but Bridge of Spies might be considered a kind of spiritual sequel to Ryan. That was Hanks and Spielberg’s World War II picture. This is their Cold War one.
