Swans in Bitterroot Seem to Mimic Human Election Season
Both trumpeter and tundra swans have been stopping by the large ponds at the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge this week. Photographer Mike Daniels was there when a few of the large birds decided to "squawk" about some issue. The conversation became more heated as he watched.
And, finally, it devolved into mud-slinging.
We have to ask - have these birds been watching cable TV news or listening to talk radio too much? By the way, no injuries reported.
You'll notice the ducks in the background, ignoring the ruckus and continuing to grab a meal from the bottom of the pond. We hear that they didn't vote, either.
