The August 23rd Montana report from the Department of Public Health and Human Services shows 54 new COVID-19 cases, which makes the current total of active cases 1,523 with 111 people hospitalized. There have been 91 deaths in Montana from the coronavirus.

Yellowstone County reported 18 new cases, followed by Flathead with 10, Glacier with 6 and Missoula County with 4 new positive tests. Other counties - Big Horn - 3, Cascade - 2, and then Custer, Gallatin, Hill, Lincoln, Madison, Phillips, Pondera, Powell, Sweet Grass, Teton, and Valley Counties each with 1. The next statewide report will Monday morning.

The Public Health advice remains the same - Wash your hands often, wear a face mask in public and watch your 6-foot social distancing. Schools are firming up plans for starting up classes this fall. New details are being released daily.
