Splash Montana May Reopen In June
With the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, there's a lot of uncertainty in the air, especially as things in Montana gradually start to reopen. Phase one of the state's reopening began in May, and we've reached a point where most of the things we used to be able to do are available again, albeit with some restrictions and social distancing guidelines.
Phase two kicks off on June 1st, which will increase restaurant capacity from 50% to 75%, open up the Montana entrances to Yellowstone National Park, allow bowling alleys to reopen, and more. But one thing that was a little unclear was the status of Splash Montana, the outdoor water park in Missoula that typically opens in June and runs through August. Would it still be able to open up on schedule with all the social distancing precautions?
Well, good news if you were looking to get back in the water - according to aquatic supervisor Eric Seagrave in an interview with KPAX, it may be possible for guests to use the lap pool as early as June 8th, with the rest of the park opening later in the month. Of course, things will be a little different, and Seagrave mentions the idea of having guests reserve specific hours at the park to help keep the number of guests in the park down at any given time.
Nothing's certain yet, of course, and it's possible that the park will have to continue working with the Missoula Health Department to try to find a workable outcome. Would you be ready to go back to Splash Montana if it does reopen in June?
