Starting Thursday, Feb. 12, 2013 the speed limit on South Brooks Streer from Dore Lane to near the Buckhouse Bridge will be reduced from 45 to 35 miles per hour.

City Engineer Kevin Slovarp says the speed limit reduction has been studied intensely over the past year, since several fatal accidents have occurred in the area. The Montana Transportation Commission has jurisdiction over the area, and approved the study and the speed limit change.

Slovarp says the new speed limit signs will go up Thursday, and speed-trailers will be placed at the location so that drivers will be able to monitor their speeds in the area.
