Another spot in Missoula is shutting down for a little while. After we heard the news that Mustard Seed over at the Southgate Mall had to close after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, and that Kobe Seafood and Steakhouse was switching to a takeout-only model, now another beloved Missoula business has announced that it'll be closed until further notice.

That would be Conflux Brewing Co., who announced the news on their Facebook page on Tuesday evening. Apparently, multiple employees were in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, so they're shutting down for a bit to do a deep clean of the brewery in the interest of public safety. There's no word yet on when they'll be reopening.

This is, in my opinion, a smart move on Conflux's part, and a proactive one. Even though we don't know if those employees have tested positive for the virus, they're still shutting down out of an abundance of caution. We've seen so many stories from all over the country of restaurants refusing to enforce masks or holding COVID-themed drinking parties, and it's just. so. dumb. It shows Conflux thinking about what's best for the public, and that's a great thing.

Hopefully, Conflux will be able to reopen soon. And even more hopefully, scientists will develop a real vaccine against COVID soon so we can return to our normal lives - eat at our favorite restaurants, drink at our favorite breweries, go to our local movie theaters, without a constant, nagging fear of contracting or spreading the virus. Man, we didn't know how good we had it a year ago, huh?
