My wife has a great goal in 2015 to make our house look more like a home. I think this is great, we aren't college kids anymore, we don't need to display liquor bottles or have plain walls. Although little did I know Pinterest and all these Do It Yourself (DIY) projects are going to be such a pain and take a splash into our bank account.

First was a nice curtain rod for our living room created out of a Black Iron Rod from a local hardware store. The problem started when the rod was too short. So we needed to add adapters to extended the length, but whatever you do on one side you need to make sure the other side matches. Long story short this quick, easy, and great looking curtain rod ended up costing just over $80. Really?!?! With it being her first DIY home project I wasn't about to complain. After one year of marriage I have learned one thing, happy wife happy life.

Savannah's second DIY project is one that I have to admit, I LOVE! It combines our house looking a lot better and my passion for radio. She found a 1970's looking RCA stereo/record player console, and it still works! Within hours of purchasing it she had removed the old hardware, the old looking speaker cover cloth, and sanded it for refurbishing. The best part was this gem was found for only $35! Here is the most updated pic, this weekend it will be completed.

I will keep letting you know as we continue to make our Lolo house more of a home throughout 2015. Any tips or tricks you have to help in the process, or ways to avoid Pinterest failure is always appreciated. Any suggestions you can send to me is appreciated!
