You know, this past weekend, I was supposed to be on a flight to Chicago for Riot Fest, a three-day festival featuring some of the biggest bands in alternative and punk music, headlined by the newly-reunited My Chemical Romance. I remember how excited I was when I bought that ticket, and how this weekend was easily gonna be the best weekend of the year.

And uh... maybe you have already guessed, but that didn't exactly happen. Thanks to the pandemic, live music is in short supply these days, but one thing that has gained popularity over the last few months is the drive-in concert. Artists recording a show to broadcast across drive-ins across the country, where people can watch socially-distanced from their cars.

We've had a few of those at the Pharaoplex Drive-In over in Hamilton this summer, but now they're upping the game a little bit. This Saturday, September 19th, they'll be hosting the Pharaohplex Music Festival, and it won't just be an artist on the screen that you'll be watching. They're gonna have two live DJs performing, BEATSANDTHINGS and DJ Redline. You can still chill in your car while listening to some music and enjoying a light show with custom on-screen graphics. Pretty cool, right?

Doors open at 6 PM on Saturday and the show kicks off at 7:00. Tickets are $10 per person and will be available at the gate. For any additional information, you can check out their website or their Facebook event page.
