The Missoula Consolidated Planning Board will hold a public hearing on the draft Our Missoula City Growth Policy on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers at 140 W. Pine St.

Senior Planner Tom Zavitz said his department is presenting the growth policy proposal to the Planning Board at the meeting.

"The plan is really reaffirming directions that the city is already headed," Zavitz said. "It respects the infrastructure that we already have by making it easier to develop around our present infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, water and sewer systems. In Missoula, we're fortunate that we've been growing at a pretty steady rate of about one percent a year for the last 100 years, and we can use that as a model for the next 20 years."

Public comments are welcome and necessary. Citizens can comment at the Planning Board meeting on Tuesday evening.
