Two off-duty law enforcement professionals just happened to be in the area of Albertson's grocery store in the Tremper's Shopping Center on Monday when 9-1-1 received a call that the store had been robbed.

Sergeant Colin Rose with the Missoula Police Department said the two officers just happened to be driving by at the time.

"The suspect used a threatening note and walked away with an undisclosed amount of cash," Rose said. "However, there was a Missoula police captain who was going home, and a Missoula County Sheriff's Department public information officer was also going home, and between the two of them, they captured him. He was interviewed at the Missoula Police Department and then taken to the Missoula County detention center."

The suspect was charged with robbery and will appear in Missoula justice court on Tuesday.
