“Sex sells” has been a standby of the marketing industry since its inception, but can that technique sell an ideology as easily as a product? The group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has been testing that marketing plan to promote veganism and to stop what they call animal cruelty for a long time. Today at 11:00 a.m., PETA will hold a “Nude PETA Beuaties” shower protest on the corner of Higgins and Broadway . Here is a description of the protest from PETA: Naked behind a banner that reads, “Clean Your Conscience: Go Vegan! 1 lb. of Meat Equals 6 Months of Showers,” two PETA beauties will shower together on a sidewalk in Missoula to let consumers know that the best way to conserve water and help the environment is to go vegan. Going vegan is an easy way to cut down on personal water usage, and it’s the best thing that anyone can do to help stop animal suffering. According to the Environmental Defense Fund, if every American skipped one meal of chicken per week and substituted vegetarian foods instead, the carbon-dioxide savings would be the same as taking more than half a million cars off U.S. roads.
