New Movie Set in Montana to Premiere At The Roxy
If you follow independent movies, you may have started hearing about a movie called Wildlife this year. It premiered back at Sundance in January and has been making the rounds at a few different festivals, and has received a ton of critical acclaim at each one.
The movie is actually set in Montana, and was filmed here too. It is based on a novel about a family dealing with their issues after moving to Great Falls. It's a small, intimate drama - the kind of movie that doesn't tend to play major multiplexes. Luckily, here in Missoula we've got the Roxy, and they'll be playing Wildlife starting on November 23rd.
Here's the description of the movie from the Roxy's site: "Fourteen-year-old Joe is the only child of Jeanette and Jerry--a housewife and a golf pro--in a small town in 1960s Montana. Nearby, an uncontrolled forest fire rages close to the Canadian border, and when Jerry loses his job--and his sense of purpose--he decides to join the cause of fighting the fire, leaving his wife and son to fend for themselves. Suddenly forced into the role of an adult, Joe witnesses his mother's struggle as she tries to keep her head above water."
