Let me set this story up by saying I'm one of the least confrontational people you'll ever meet, especially when it comes to situations involving the service industry. Back in the day I used to be a waitress, so trust me when I say I know all about the drama that goes into serving other people.

But I also understand that getting your nails done is often times a 'treat yo'self' moment, so when you do decide to splurge a little, you want it done right! If that's the case, don't go to Nail Trix in the Southgate Mall.

Yesterday afternoon I went in to get a standard fill and a fresh coat of gel polish, and by that night the gel polish was already starting to peel off and the skin around my nails burned a little whenever I'd wash my hands. I guess I should have known better based on the online reviews and because I've had a few friends have problems with Nail Trix in the past when it came to the cleanliness of their tools and the longevity of their work. Getting my nails done at Nail Trix was a mistake, and definitely one I won't be making ever again...

Yes my experience was a bad one, but it seemed way worse because I'm used to getting my nails done by the sweet angel that is Nicole Holden at Silver Scissors. Honestly, I've never had a nail tech as amazing as Nicole! Everything she uses is clean, she never burns me and my nails always come out perfect! The only reason I didn't see her this week is because she's out on maternity leave! (Yayyy!) In retrospect, I wish I would have waited for her to come back...
