At around 7:30 Thursday night, a Missoula police officer was dispatched to the intersection of Beverly and Hilda Avenue. A complainant told 911 that a male appeared to be “passed out” in a vehicle in that location. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“EMS was also dispatched,” Welsh said. “The officers and medical technicians arrived approximately at the same time. They located a male passed out in the vehicle that was described at that intersection and identified him as 41-year-old Robert Finch. Mr. Finch was subsequently arrested for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.”

According to Welsh, officers found other suspicious items and an investigation is ongoing.

“As a result of the investigation at the scene, other items of suspicious materials were discovered, which compelled officers to continue to investigate this particular incident and to determine what those substances are,” Welsh said.

Finch was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center and is currently awaiting arraignment on charges related to the incident.
