The 4th of July is next week!  How did that happen?  Like it or not, the year is at the midway point.  That means it's time for fireworks, BBQ's, and your finest red, white & blue attire.

And with the holiday just around the corner it's a perfect time to take a look at WalletHub's rankings of 2019's Most Patriotic States in America.

Montana had a pretty strong showing - #12 on the list.  Military engagement was one of the main factors in the ranking and Montana finished #2 in a pair of categories - most veterans per capita and most Peace Corps volunteers per capita.

Take a look at the complete list and rankings HERE!

Oh......and what state took the top spot?  That would be New Hampshire.

To determine the most patriotic states, WalletHub compared the 50 states across two key dimensions, “Military Engagement” and “Civic Engagement.”

We evaluated those dimensions using 13 relevant metrics, which are listed below with their corresponding weights. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the highest level of patriotism.

Finally, we determined each city’s weighted average across all metrics to calculate its overall score and used the resulting scores to rank-order our sample.
