University of Montana President Seth Bodnar emailed students and faculty today to announce that he is in full support of the recommended mask requirement by the Montana University System Healthy Fall Task Force. The Task Force recommended required masks for all campuses across the state when fall classes resume this August. The email also explained that they are working on a detailed policy and implementation plan to begin asap.

The U of M Health Advisory Group also made their support known and said they will work with the community on enforcement and compliance. Meanwhile, a Missoula group declared their intention to rally on the Missoula Courthouse lawn this morning at 11 a.m. to protest required masks in our county. Our news team arrived at the courthouse at 11 and reported that no one had shown up for the protest.

Classes at the U of M and Missoula College are back in session on August 15th. We hope to have an announcement about Griz Football by the end of this week so keep an ear out!
