A Missoula man, 22, was arrested early Saturday morning, December 28, after allegedly driving drunk, and fleeing from police in a high-speed chase that resulted in four other cars being damaged.

Sergeant Jerry Odlin with the Missoula Police Department said the initial contact with the suspect came early Saturday morning.

"Just before 2 a.m. on Saturday, Missoula police attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding at the intersection of Brooks and Dore Lane," Odlin said. "The vehicle failed to stop and led the officer on a pursuit that lasted about four minutes, and eventually wound up on the 1,000 block of South 4th West."

Odlin said the chase did not end there.

"The driver of the vehicle lost control and actually struck four parked vehicles," Odlin said. "The driver then fled the scene on foot leaving a passenger in the vehicle, who was questioned and released. The driver was apprehended about three minutes later near the area of South 1st Street and California. No one was injured in the incident."

Odlin said the unidentified suspect faces a litany of charges.

"The 22 year-old Missoula man was arrested on four counts of felony criminal endangerment, reckless driving, eluding or fleeing from a police officer, aggravated DUI, two counts of obstructing a peace officer, failure to remain at the scene after striking a parked vehicle, speeding, and refusing a breath test," Odlin said.

The suspect was booked into the Missoula County Jail, and will appear in justice court on Monday, December 30.
