Toby Wilson with the Montana Job Service Office in Missoula was on the KGVO Talk Back show on Tuesday to promote a virtual job fair that will occur on Wednesday.

Wilson said that ZOOM meetings have been working well with employers and job seekers.

“For the last several months, we've been doing the luncheon activities where we have employers join in on a ZOOM meeting,” said Wilson. “We have opened that to the public so that they can also click on that link and join in. Basically, we were doing a job fair the new way, virtually, instead of instead of face to face.”

Wilson said a ZOOM presentation gives employers more opportunities to promote their companies and programs to highly sought-after employees.

“We've talked to employers that have training opportunities and various unique benefits programs, and they have positions that have potential for growth,” he said. “They really put together some great presentations to try and encourage people to take a look at them and make a decision. Am I ready to try something new? Am I ready to get back into the workforce? Whatever the case may be, there are employers that want people and we want to facilitate that connection.”

Wilson provided the details of Wednesday’s virtual job fair via ZOOM.

“It’s Wednesday, May 12, noon to 2pm,” he said. “You'll need the ZOOM link, but it is way too long of an address to read out over the radio. So look us up on Facebook, just look up Job Service Missoula on Facebook and you can find the link to the ZOOM meeting there, or you can call our office and we'll send you an email with the link. Call 728-7060; let us know that you're interested in the online job fair and we'll send you a link.”

Women have left marks on everything from entertainment and music to space exploration, athletics, and technology. Each passing year and new milestone makes it clear both how recent this history-making is in relation to the rest of the country, as well as how far we still need to go. The resulting timeline shows that women are constantly making history worthy of best-selling biographies and classroom textbooks; someone just needs to write about them.

Scroll through to find out when women in the U.S. and around the world won rights, the names of women who shattered the glass ceiling, and which country's women banded together to end a civil war.
