Missoula Cycling Event Inspired by The Popular ‘Mullet’ Hairstyle

AH...The Mullet. What is there to say about this timeless hairstyle? It is an iconic hairstyle that will never entirely disappear. Dating back to prehistoric times, you have seen many different kinds of mullets. Everything from the majestic "Dog the Bounty Hunter" style to the "Flock of Seagulls" style. Don't get me started on the ever-popular "Billy Ray Cyrus" style.

What exactly is a mullet?

According to Wikipedia

The mullet is a hairstyle in which the hair is cut shorter at the front and sides, but is longer at the back. A metal figurine, dated back to the 1st-century AD and found during 2018 preparations for a new car park at the Wimpole Estate, England, was hypothesized by archaeologists to indicate that natives in ancient Britain during the Roman occupation could have worn their hair in a similar style to mullets.

Some people like to refer to mullets as "business in the front, party in the rear." Meaning short-length hair upfront and longer hair in the back.

The Mullet Cycling Classic in Missoula was inspired by the mullet.

The Mullet Cycling Classic is set to take place Friday, June 3rd on Marshall Mountain.

Business in the front. Party in the back. The Mullet Cycling Classic is a two-rider relay race where one racer handles the uphill "business," the other racer the downhill "party." Stick around after the race for the Missoula mountain biking party of the summer!

The registration fee to race is $25 per rider. The party following the race is FREE.
