The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed nine new felony criminal complaints last week, which is quite a bit lower than what we have been seeing since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. However, Pabst said all of those cases were rather serious in nature.

“We charged three violent cases involving intimate partner violence and we charged one assault with a weapon case, two counts, as well as carrying a concealed weapon,” Pabst said. “In that case, the defendant allegedly pulled a gun on two victims near Washington- Grizzly Stadium, pointed it at them, and was threatening them. The gun was later found to have the serial number sanded off.”

In the endangerment category, Pabst said her office charged three new cases.

“One was a negligent endangerment plus disorderly conduct and the others were two felony DUI cases,” Pabst said. “In one of them, in addition to the felony DUI, we charged criminal endangerment, fleeing from or eluding a peace officer, driving while suspended, and failure to carry proof of insurance. In that case, the defendant led police on a high speed chase all over Missoula. He allegedly crossed the center line multiple times and nearly sideswiped another vehicle.”

In addition, they charged two new felony drug cases. Both cases involved methamphetamine and heroin.
