Missoula Business Helps to Put the Brakes on Breast Cancer
Tomorrow is calendar flipping day as we welcome in October. I know, pretty crazy we're already through the first nine months of the year. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month you'll be seeing a lot of pink and hearing a lot about different organizations raising money for breast cancer research.
I love this fundraiser that a local business is involved in. During October, Transolution Auto Care and Oreilly Auto Parts of Missoula have teamed up with more than 100 independent auto repair shops across the US for the Brakes for Breasts fundraising effort.
This will be the seventh year of the Brakes for Breasts fundraiser. The money raised has gone from $10,000 in the first year to over $140,000 last year. And what started as 5 shops the first year had 138 participate in 2018. To date they've raised over $745,000.
So, how does it work? Transolution Auto Care will be giving away FREE (quality) brake pads or shoes during the month of October. You pay the labor and any other parts needed to complete the brake job and Transolution Auto Care will donate 10% of the brake job cost to the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Research Fund. The clinic is doing some amazing things in the search for a breast cancer cure.
If you know you need brake work - this is the perfect time to get it done and help raise money for a great cause.
