MCPS Indian Education Department Halloween Activities
The Missoula County Public School Indian Ed Department and All Nations Health Center have put on a Halloween party since as far back as I can remember. I've got some great memories of round dancing in elementary and middle school gyms, while dressed as a Charlie Brown ghost or a zombie. Naturally, there will not be a gathering this year because of the pandemic, but that's kind of OK because it means we get a full week of fun activities!
Most of these events are virtual, when posting photos of your participation for the raffles and prizes, be sure to use #HalloweenWellnessWeek and #MCPSIndianEdCostumeContest
Monday 10/26 - 5 p.m., virtual cooking class on Zoom
Tuesday 10/27 - 10 a.m-5:30 p.m., drive thru flu shots, pick up pumpkin carving kits & pumpkins, along with diorama kits & swag bags. 3:30-5:30 p.m., free produce distribution, at All Nations Health Center Parking Lot
Wednesday 10/28 - 5 p.m., scary story telling and virtual diorama activity on Zoom
Thursday 10/29 - virtual costume contest, post pics on social media by Thursday with the hashtags above for a chance to win prizes! You can also email pics to Dacia, firstname.lastname@example.org
Keep an eye on the All Nations Health Center Facebook page for the Zoom links and more info!
Other local Halloween activities in Missoula include "trunk or treat" drive thru events at AMC Theaters and Zootown (Bootown) Church, and the ZACC pumpkin carving contest. Whatever you decide to do for Pandemic Halloween, be safe and don't go spreading COVID-19.
