Lincoln County Fair in Eureka Has Been (Mostly) Cancelled

Another one bites the dust. If you've been holding out hope for a state or county fair in Montana this summer, things have been looking more and more bleak. The Western Montana Fair, the Ravalli County Fair, MontanaFair... one by one, they've all gone down. Some have shut down entirely, others are continuing with the 4H and FFA events but not moving forward with any of the normal fair activities like rides and vendors. Right now, the only major one that's trying to move ahead normally is the Northwest Montana Fair in Kalispell, and even they've had to cancel their annual parade.

So, it comes as no surprise that the Lincoln County Fair in Eureka can be added to that list. They announced on Facebook yesterday that the fair wouldn't be taking place - but, like many others, they would still be doing the 4H and FFA events, as "this portion of the fair is more manageable, and can be kept a safer event."

The fair would have been taking place in August. Hopefully, 2021 will get us to a better place than we're in now, and we can actually DO things again. But in the meantime, wear your masks, practice social distancing, support your local health care workers, and just be kind to each other in general - let's see if that can speed up the process.
