Light the Way 5k is Full of Festive Fun on Saturday
If you know the next 10 days are going to include you stuffing yourself with Christmas dinner and all the cookies, goodies, and sweet you can find - this might be a good way to burn off some calories before you start you consumption of massive proportions.
The Light the Way 5k happens on Saturday! Suit up in your best (or worst) Christmas attire and make your way around Fort Missoula Park.
It sounds like a family-friendly run that's full of fun! There's lights around the course, holiday music, Santa, a bonfire at the finish area, and Christmas cookies & hot cocoa served at the finish! There's even a free 1/2 mile Kids Fun Run before the 5k

We are excited to let you know that all participants will be entered to win a pair of Bluetooth headphones thanks to our friends at Toyota! We are also raffling off five Knog headlamps.
Speaking of Knog, ALL participants will receive a Knog 40 lumen running light (valued at $19.95)! By the way, Runners Edge now carries headlamps and safety lights from Knog.
IT'S BACK! Light the Way 5k luminaries are back! You will see them lighting your way throughout the entire course. PLUS Schnapps for those adults who want to top off their cocoa!

Friday:
4-6pm: Packet Pickup at Runner’s Edge
Saturday:
4:45-5:45pm: Packet Pickup and Registration at Fort Missoula Regional Park
5:45pm: 1/2 Mile Kids Race
6:00pm: Light the Way 5k Starts
6:15-7:30pm: Cookies and Cocoa
Runner’s Receive:
- A festive light up Holiday surprise
- Finish line cookies and cocoa
- A warm and inviting atmosphere for a 1st or 50th 5k
- Candy cane at the finish
- Chip timing
Course Description:
Light the Way 5k takes place on the sidewalk paths of Fort Missoula Regional Park and a 1/2 mile of crushed gravel path. Most years the course is covered in packed snow with patches of pavement.
We strongly encourage the use of headlamps, flashlights and any other awesome, festive item you can find to illuminate your way. Please have fun with your running outfit! Wear your best (or worst!) Christmas attire for this race. We also encourage the use of traction devices on your running shoes. We may have rain, ice, snow, all three or none of the above. Be prepared for all types of weather conditions.
Location:
Light the Way 5k takes place at Fort Missoula Regional Park in Missoula, MT. Packet pickup and the start/finish line is at Bella Vista Pavilion on the south side of the soccer complex.
