At last report, the current Missoula International Airport figures are similar to national averages, as an astounding number of fewer than 100,000 people went through airport check stations Tuesday and yesterday. These are the lowest figures since the Transportation Security Administration started keeping track.

The figures represent a decrease in airline travel of 95 per cent from a year ago and are looking like the smallest numbers since the 1950s, when there were a lot less Americans, planes and airports.

Based on surveys asking people about when they'll feel safe flying again, authorities are also anticipating a slow recovery. Here's hoping we can ground COVID-19 soon.
