The Ravalli County polling places will be open on Primary Election day, Tuesday, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. That's right, you will be going to your district polling place and casting your ballot right there in the voting booth.

Of course, a few things have changed in Montana since you voted before the COVID-19 pandemic. The recent state legislature enacted new voting requirements:

  • You must show an I.D. to the election officials. That I.D. can be a Montana Driver's License, a Montana state I.D., a Military I.D. card, a U.S. Passport, a tribal photo I.D. card, or a Montana concealed carry weapon permit.
  • Any other photo I.D. must be accompanied by a secondary document, such as a utility bill, a bank statement, a paycheck or other government document.
  • Of course, you must be registered to vote. And, you can no longer register on election day. Late registration must be done by noon the day BEFORE election day. In this case, Monday, June 6, at 12 noon. And you must be at least 18 years old at the time of the election. By the way, if you miss two consecutive General Elections, you will need to update your registration.
