It Must Be Spring in the Bitterroot

This week, the warmer temperatures in the Bitterroot Valley helped the Big Melt continue in an almost orderly way. The huge ice jam at Veteran's Bridge on the north end of Hamilton broke loose, leaving huge icy banks along the Bitterroot River... just in time for the first insect hatches of the fishing season. So, here come the rafts! The photo below shows what the river looked like a couple of weeks ago.
