Demi Lovato fans are crediting the Confident singer with helping them through trials like eating disorders and suicidal thoughts as the singer continues to recover from a reported overdose earlier this week.

As part of a new #HowDemiHasHelpedMe campaign, fans are opening up about their deepest, darkest secrets and explaining how Lovato's words and songs helped to extract them from grief.

"In 6th grade i struggled with anorexia & ‘believe in me’ saved me. in 7th grade i had my suicide note written & struggled with self harm & ‘skyscraper’ saved me. in 9th grade i was diagnosed with bipolar disorder & ‘warrior’ saved me. i will forever love her #HowDemiHasHelpedMe," one fan remembered, while another wrote "#HowDemiHasHelpedMe Because of her openess about her mental health problems it made me feel like it wasnt something to be ashamed of, this gave me the courage to tell someone and get the help I needed for a long time. I hope read these and remember how much you mean to all of u."

Lovato is reportedly awake, stable and under the care of family. Her family issued a statement on July 24 that thanked fans for their support.

"Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now," it read.
