The Hamilton High School Bronc football team defeated the Browning Indians in a non-conference game 70 to 28 Friday night, September 7.

The Browning Indians came out strong in a lengthy and error-prone first quarter. They scored two times and led 14-0. Then, the Broncs came back with the Rostad to Rothie combination and two-point conversions to end the quarter in the lead 16 to 14. Browning started the second quarter with a TD, but no extra point. After that, the Broncs fired up the scoring machine with five unanswered touchdowns to go into the halftime locker room with a 34-point lead, 54 to 20. A Bronc kick-off return starting the 3rd quarter took the score up to 62 - 20 and that started the "35-point" rule, where the game clock keeps running except for official time-outs. Hamilton soon scored again to reach 70 points in the third quarter and began freely substituting for the rest of the game. At the end of the fourth quarter, Browning scored one more time and added a two-point conversion. The final score - Hamilton 70 Browning 28. It was the Broncs' third win in the early season and their second win on the road. They return to Hamilton's Haynes Field next Friday for a game against Polson. KLYQ will again broadcast the game at 1240 AM, on-line at klyq.com and on your cellphone with the KLYQ App.
