Griz Football Player to Skip NFL Draft and Play Final Season

The college football season is officially over and we're already turning our sights toward September when it'll all start up again. Things might not have ended the way we hoped they would but all in all, it was a pretty successful season for the Griz. An upset of the Washington Huskies on the road to start the year, 9 wins during the regular season, another win during the playoffs, and an always important win against Montana State in the Brawl of the Wild made for a pretty memorable few months.

Some great news for next year's team!

The Griz put together a strong season and had dreams of making it to the championship game but a couple of big injuries killed their momentum in the playoffs. It's always tough when the season ends knowing that next year's roster will be different as players come and go for various reasons. But Griz fans got a bit of good news today as one important piece on defense, Justin Ford, announced that he would return to play next season instead of ending his college career and declaring for the NFL draft.

Yep, those are some pretty impressive stats

Ford had an amazing individual season that saw him lead college football in interceptions with 9 as he helped the Griz defense hold opponents to 10 points or less in four games on the year. It's a pretty big deal to have a 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-American player deciding to stick around and play another year.

We're hoping for big things in 2022 for the Griz

Griz fans should be excited by the news of Justin Ford deciding to return for one last season. Especially if it brings more highlights like the one above where he returned a fumbled field goal attempt for a touchdown against Montana State in the Brawl of the Wild.
