Nothing has been proven on the field yet, but it's always exciting to see who will have very high expectations put on them for the upcoming season.

It was announced Thursday that four Montana Grizzly football standouts have been named to HERO Sports Preseason All-America teams.

To no one's surprise, senior linebacker Dante Olson was named to the first team defense. Junior Linebacker Jace Lewis was named to the first team special teams. Sophomore safety Robby Hauck earned second team defense honors. And junior wide receiver Sammy Akem earned a spot on the offense's third team.

In 2018, Dante Olsen shattered the Montana school record with 151 total tackles and also earned him spots on seven different All-America teams. He also placed third nationwide in the voting for the Buck Buchanan Award, given to the best defensive player in the FCS.

Jace Lewis emerged as a future star linebacker for the Griz as the team's fifth-leading tackler and was a force on the kickoff coverage unit.

Robby Hauck finished his freshman season of college football as the nation's top freshman tackler and fifth overall in the Big Sky Conference.

And Sammy Akem had a breakout sophomore season with 13 touchdown catches, the most in the Big Sky Conference in 2018.

Our thanks to UM Sports Information Director Eric Taber for sharing the announcement. We congratulate these talented Griz for earning the recognition and can't wait to see all of them play in only 86 days!
