Yes, I know it’s still February, but I just can’t help myself. I desperately want spring to make its appearance. I am growing weary of the below zero temperatures for a week, followed by high 30 degree temperatures. The snowy, icy, wet and slushy roads are starting to drive me crazy, literally.

I’ve decided that I am tired of dreaming of spring and am going to do anything I can to make it get here today. Of course, I know that I can’t actually change the weather. However, I can change my environment to give the illusion of spring that I so desperate long for. Here is a list of ways that I plan to do this. Feel free to join me in my spring craze.

Bring home some flowers - They might be hard to find this time of year, but if you look, you can find them. I especially love tulips, lilies and irises. They just scream spring to me. Buy a few potted flowers and let them warm up your window sills.

Enjoy Easter candy – It’s already here! Who can resist a Cadbury egg? No red blooded American can! Nothing tastes like spring like chocolate and jelly beans.

Pastel nails – Remove the dark red polish you’ve been sporting all winter and break out the pastels. You could even paint them with dots and stripes to look like little tiny Easter eggs.

Lusterous locks – Spruce up that drabby winter do with a flower or two. Sporting a bright beautiful flower in your hair will make you feel brighter and put a smile on the face of everyone else you meet.

Dress down – Pick one of our 30 degree days and sport a nice sundress with a pair of leggings underneath. It’s not quite flip flops and a bikini, but it’s not a snowsuit with boots and a hat either. It’s the happy medium that you can skate by with on a very warm 30 degree day.

Green glasses – Dreaming of grass? Buy a cheap pair of fake glasses and color them green. Works like a charm. All the snow magically turns to beautiful green grass.
